Job Title: WACA Accountant

PURPOSE
This role supports the Record-to-Report Officer to assure accurate and complete WACA branch accounting in compliance with CARM controls, Group IFRS, OHADA and Tax lawsbra
ACCOUNTABILITIES
The WACA Accountantwill be responsible for:
Identifying and allocating WACA shared expenses.
Calculating, allocating, and recharging WACA management fees to respective brand owners
Issuing a royalty invoice, on behalf of the brand owners to the WACA 3rdparty licensed brewers.
Preparing and booking accruals and provisions and ensuring accurate and complete month -end cut off
Complying with CARM accounting controls in WACA and furnishing evidences for control check lists and audits
Ensuring that Deloitte maintains proper accounting and records for WACA fixed assets
Integrating WACA accounting into H/Q’s at single entity and consolidated level both for local and group reporting.
Managing GCSA relationship and SLA with Deloitte on the accounting side and ensuring that all deliverables are achieved.
Processing and ensuring that customers’ spends are approved and timely paid
Providing adequate accounting support to WACA sales teams and providing responses to all WACA accounting queries
Building up and submit manual journals for posting in coordination with BPM team and other stakeholders.
Managing all 3rd parties and salary payments through EMS and ensuring EMS account is replenished timely with funds from Diageo GB.
Preparing EMS /HSBC bank account reconciliation monthly and timely for FD’s check list.
Reviewing, updating and ensuring implementation and respect of all WACA existing financial procedures and processes (T&E, accounting and tax, vehicle acquisition, invoicing procedure etc) on need basis.
Supporting the creation of new Diageo Global suppliers for A&P and other services in WACA.
Leading WACA accounting audits.
Supporting RTR Officer
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
B. Sc (Hons) in accounting or equivalent.
Partly or fully qualified accountant will be an added advantage with two years in a renowned IFRS and OHADA environment.
Proven 2 years experience in a renowned IFRS and OHADA environment.
CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS
You will need to have:
· Accounting skills
· Good interpersonal skills when working with Auditors and other stakeholders in and outside the brewery.
· Strong oral and written communication skills,
· Good working relations with third parties and group wide people.
· Good interpersonal skills
· Time management skills
· Good ability of building relationship
· IFRS, OHADA and taxation knowledge
You will also need to be:
· Customer oriented and focused
· Ableto establish a good rapport with stakeholders – WACA sales team, Deloitte, other functions, inter-company counter parties etc
· Able to keep one-self updated and flexible in changing work practices, systems, accounting standards, and tax laws.
· Bilingual (English and French)
· Computer literate (Sun Systems, Vision Excel, Excel, SAP, Word, PowerPoint)
