Illustrer des guides pratiques avec des dessins ( haute résolution) assistés sur ordinateur

TASK

Les volontaires feront des dessins en haute résolution ( sur ordinateur) pour illustrer et améliorer dix fiches techniques sur les techniques agricoles ( ananas, maraichage, cuiseurs solaires, etc)

Les fiches techniques sont des documents simplifiés qui présente des techniques agricoles aux paysans. Il s'agit pour les illustrateurs de concevoir des dessins de ces techniques agricoles qui permettent de mieux rendre le texte compréhensible .

ISF a déjà rédigé les textes des guides et disposent de qualques photos qui illustrent ces textes. A partir des photos et du texte fournis, les volontaires reproduiront les photos en dessins en y apportant quelques innovations et des légendes qui rendent les dessins plus explicatifs que les photos. Ces dessins seront validées par des auteurs.

Background and Objectives

The Regional AIDS Training Network (RATN) is an international non-profit organisation with operations in Eastern & Southern Africa (ESA) region. 

RATN represents a consortium of training institutions who collaborate on training activities related to STIs/HIV/AIDS in the region and whose mission is to strengthen the capacity of relevant individuals, organisations and other stakeholders to effectively respond to STIs/HIV/AIDS. Currently RATN has 33 institutions that are full members spread across 11 countries in ESA region.

RATN is seeking for a fresh graduate student, to work in the Grants and Business Development Unit.

Scope of Work - Grants and Business Development Intern

Learning Objective
To gain experience in 

a) researching and acquiring new business for an International NGO, andb) in the administration of a small grants program.

Overall Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, Grants and Business Development, the Grants and Business Development Intern shall play a support role in both the acquisition of new business at RATN and the management of RATN’s grant-giving programs.

Support RATN resource mobilization efforts by monitoring industry trends and developments that affect RATN’s strategic activities and conducting research on organizations that have the potential to provide financial or in-kind support to RATN;Populate and maintain database of fundraising targets;Provide administrative support for the development of fundraising proposals;Ensure that comprehensive documentation is maintained and filed for each of RATN’s grant projects;Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing or its equivalent (candidates currently pursuing a degree will also be considered);Excellent research, data analysis/synthesis. Experience in organizing and disseminating business information;Highly computer literate, proficient in MS Office, spreadsheets and online research;Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English required;Demonstrated good judgment and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;Detail orientation, with an ability to operate in a highly organized fashion;Emotional maturity and a good sense of humor.(2) cover letter demonstrating qualification and interest for the position

Under broad direction, performs some of the functions of a PDC or Service Coordinator (in addition to responsibilities as a Service Specialist for the Surface Well Testing product service line) on a location or project of insufficient size to warrant a full-time PDC or Service Coordinator. Interacts with customers and supervises the activities of completions service and/or shop personnel to exceed customer requirements. May oversee the activities of more than one PSL. Job emphasis is on personnel development, operational excellence and customer satisfaction for long-term growth and profitability of incumbent#s area of responsibility (geographic area or a project). May provide facilities management. Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with HMS processes. Ensures that customer satisfaction and job performance data is gathered. Contacts customer for performance follow-up and to plan future work. Mentors and assesses Surface Well Test Service Specialists, Service Operators and Operator Assistants. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Skills are typically acquired through completion of high school or similar education and 2 years of experience as a Service Specialist III # Surface Well Testing. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and ensures compliance with all applicable HSE procedures and regulations in his/her area of responsibility. Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.

Under general supervision, supervises, directs, and performs all phases of Testing and Subsea Testing Tools (TT) service line equipment on work locations for the purpose of maintaining control of wellbore fluids during well testing and/or perforating and providing the customer with essential reservoir information by the use of (but not limited to): Drillstem Testing Tools. In addition to responsibilities, systems knowledge, competence and skills sets acquired from lower level roles, this individual will be required to mentor and train lower level personnel in areas of expertise and will be required to become a dedicated Assessor for junior TT personnel. Capable of working in other Testing and Subsea product service lines on location and in the workshop. Routinely works in more than one type of well site (onshore and offshore) and base camp as assigned by Service Coordinator. Participates in high profile projects. Provides the planning necessary for the job including equipment set up, well site direction, testing, operating equipment and customer-related support activities at the customer location and field camp. Performs quality control of well test data and provides basic customer reports. Monitors instruments and performs necessary calculations to assure quality of data/job. Consults with customers concerning services and products, promotes good customer relations at the well site, and assures customer satisfaction with results. Properly maintains assigned equipment and monitors compliance with safety regulations and procedures. Conducts pre-job toolbox safety meetings, reviews and verifies job plan with customer representative and manages any changes required, checks and verifies equipment as per job plan, completes all job documentation to include: Job Ticket, Job History Report, CV Metrics/KPI, Job Log, Job Summary etc. Demonstrates detailed understanding of downhole hydraulics, including basic job calculations, working knowledge of wireline Blow Out Prevention (BOP) function and of basic reservoir # i.e., BHP, BHT, hydrocarbon characteristics. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through completion of high school or similar education and 7 years of Downhole Testing Tool experience.

Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements. Must have met the minimum competency requirements for the Service Specialist II # Testing Tools. Must be fully knowledgable in all aspects of Testing & Subsea (Test Tools) service line in the local area. Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic rig function including, but not limited to the following: a) Weight Indicator - What is it used for, and how it relates to our work. b) Mud System - Weights of common well fluids - what effect they can have on our equipment. c) Limitations of mud pumps, pressure reading, strokes per/min - bbls/min. d) Basic rig manifold. Must be able to explain the function of the mobilization documentation. Must be able to review proposals received from Business Development (BD) to confirm best practices are followed and that proposed job plan will meet customer#s expectations in the most efficient manner. Must be able to communicate with other Product Service Line (PSL's) and third parties, to ensure tool compatibility. Must have successfully completed cross-training to the level of Specialist I in a minimum of three PSL / sub-PSL, or be qualified as a Testing Tool Assessor or conduct Field Service Quality / HMS audits.

Supply and logistics specialist, Yaounde (P-3)

Purpose of the Position

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Operations, manages the supply operations of a medium sized country office. Responsible for planning, procurement, distribution and monitoring of UNICEFs supplies in support of the Country Programme.

Key Expected Results

1. Participates in strategic, planning and policy formulation in the area of supply and logistics. Assists in the development of the supply logistics component within the country programme, ensuring that logistics considerations all the way to distribution to project side are included.

2. Develops and implements logistics planning through coordination with Operations and Programme sections, provides technical advice and supervises logistics arrangements, facilitating efficient clearance, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment to end-users from ports of entry and warehouses with emphasis on emergency preparedness and response.

3. Implements and supervise emergency supply management and logistics.

4. Liaise and coordinate with the sub regional supply and logistics hub in Douala to expedite and support supplies to and logistics for Chad and the Central African Republic . In coordination with the hub, conduct market research , identify potential local suppliers, and evaluate supplier performance for the 3 countries which utilize the hub.

5. Draft contracts and LTAs for goods and services available in Cameroon for the benefit of the sub-region. In coordination with sub-regional hub, supports local procurement and timely delivery for Chad and Central Africa Republic country offices and ensure appropriate VISION transactions.

6. Maintains contact with the Supply Division, Copenhagen, on supply policies. Interprets and advises the country office and Government on policies and procedures, impacting on offshore/local procurement and delivery and utilization of UNICEF supplies and equipment. Maintains appropriate links with Copenhagen on trans-national shipments and delivery.

7. Advises Copenhagen and sub regional hub on quality deficiencies and on the appropriateness of goods, as well as on claims issues arising from shipments and handles local procurement claims.

8. Undertakes field visits to project sites and sub offices to inventory and monitor supply inputs. Proposes corrective actions to improve logistical procedures. Prepares trip report for the head of office.

9. Ensure the follow up and implementation of internal audit recommendations to improve procedures and practices in supply & logistics field.

10. Identifies training needs and develops training activities in supply management for UNICEF staff, consultants and counterparts, designed to improve supply delivery.

11. Maintain good contacts with other UN agencies and represents UNICEF within common supply & logistics activities.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

Advance University degree in Supply, Logistics, Transport or related field preferred. *

Five years of relevant work experience at national and international level in supply logistics, including at least one year in an emergency environment and two years in a developing country.

Varied supply logistics functional background is an asset, from procurement to warehousing, transport management and distribution to beneficiaries.

Experience within a complex inter-agency operating environment is also preferred.

Fluency in English and French is required.

*A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Under general supervision, performs all phases of the rigging up and down of Surfce Well Testing (SWT) service line equipment on work locations for the purpose maintaining control and processing of wellbore fluids during well testing operations and providing the customer with essential reservoir information by the use of (but not limted to): Surface Well Testing and Surface Pressure Control equipment packages. In addition to responsibilities, systems knowledge, competence and skills sets acquired from lower level roles, this individual will be required to mentor and train lower level personnel in areas of expertise and will be required to become a dedicated Assessor for junior SWT personnel. Routinely works in more than one type of well site (onshore and offshore) and base camp as assigned by Service Coordinator. Capable of working in other product lines within the Testing & Subsea (PSL) on location and in the workshop. Participates in high profile projects. Provides the planning necessary for the job including rig site surveys, equipment set up, well site direction, and customer-related support activities. Performs quality control of well test data and provides basic customer reports. Monitors instruments and performs necessary calculations to assure quality of data/job. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability of operations. Should have good working knowledge of all service lines within the Testing & Subsea PSL. Skills are typically acquired through completion of high school or similar education and 7 years of SWT experience. Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements. Must have met the minimum competency requirements for the Service Specialist II # SWT. Must be able to perform all of the Testing & Subsea (SWT) jobs in the local area. Must be able to interpret P&ID drawings, navigate data books and perform QA related tasks related to (SWT) equipment & operations. Must be able to pressure test equipment safely. Must have demonstrated ability to work safely with hand tools.

Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic rig function including, but not limited to the following: a) Weight Indicator - What is it used for, and how it relates to our work. b) Mud System - Weights of common well fluids - what effect they can have on our equipment, pressure reading, strokes per/min - bbls/min. c) Basic rig manifold. d) Wireline Surface Pressure Control Equipment. Must be able to explain the function of the mobilization documentation. Must be able to review proposals received from Business Development (BD) to confirm best practices are followed and that proposed job plan will meet customer#s expectations in the most efficient manner. Must be able to communicate with other PSLs and third parties, to ensure equipment compatibility. Must be able to explain the local Halliburton Management System (HMS) process for Prepare Resources.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of financial control, accounting and and financial management support for the RegionResponsible to build, develop and manage a strong finance team to support the Region business.Responsible for ensuring the provision of accurate and timely financial accounts for business:To comply with local fiscal authorities.To comply with US GAAP financial reporting requirements.Responsible for ensuring internal controls are in place and operating effectively, complying with company policy and SOX.To provide Operations Management with meaningful financial reports to assist them in running the business, work with management teams and advise on operational finance issues.To develop and improve processes and procedures, including implementing new financial systems within the Finance function to improve accuracy and efficiency and comply with local, Region & Global policies.Responsible for financial integration of newly acquired businesses into existing structure, and performing or assisting with due diligence on M&A projects when required.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Qualified Accountant (recognised International Qualification such as CA, ACCA or CIMA).Minimum 7+ years experience, preferably with in a similar industry role.Experienced in management reporting, and providing support to all levels of operational and non-financial management.Strong practical experience in US GAAP accounting..Fluent in English and French languages, written and spoken.

Preferred:

Oil & Gas industry experienceFluent in the local language of the Region that the position is based in, written & spoken Knowledge/experience of Sarbanes Oxley and other SEC requirements.

Skill Requirements:

Essential:

Relevant PC skillsStrong communication skills (both written & oral)Ability to use initiative, judgement and work with minimum supervision.Experience of managing, developing and motivating a team.Strong knowledge and experience in accounting practice.Experience of working closely with operational and other non-financial personnel.Experienced in local accounting regulations, VAT and tax regulations and compliance with fiscal authorities.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.Experience of budget and forecast preparation, written commentaries on business performance.Experience of working capital management and providing advice to management in this area.

Purpose of the role

Bioversity International's global programme on Forest Genetic Resources Conservation and Use (FGR) is active in Sub-Saharan Africa and seeks a scientist with knowledge of forest genetics. The objectives of the programme include understanding status and threats and how to conserve the genetic resources of priority tree species that are important for people's well-being. Bioversity International works closely with partners in developing and developed countries to carry out research activities. Within the context of the CGIAR Research Programme on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (CRP6), Bioversity's FGR programme staff work closely with the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) to produce joint outputs. The position is located in Yaounde, Cameroon on the campus of CIFOR.

Key responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Research Theme Leader, appointee will have the following responsibilities:

Contribute to research design and implementation of FGR activities in collaboration with partners in SSA;Contribute to the assessment of research needs to support the sustainability of FGR in the region;Contribute to data collection and analysis, and overseeing students;Contribute to delivery of scientific outputs in CRP6 including the development of guidelines, publications in scientific journals;Participate in the development of scientific grant proposals;Contribute to capacity development of scientists, practitioners and other stakeholders in the region;Contribute to the development of special reports including the FAO's report on the State of the World's Forest Genetic Resources and other regional and global initiatives;Maintain partnerships with national and regional research partners including the SAFORGEN network.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

Essential qualifications and competencies:

A PhD in Forest Genetics or related field.Minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in an international work environment and including field research in a development context.Knowledge of forest ecology and tree biology.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels and build consensus in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.Excellent command of the English language; working knowledge of French, both verbal and written. ï‚Ÿ Strong analytical and synthesizing skills; ability to write clear and concise scientific documents. ï‚Ÿ Proficiency in relevant software packages (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint).

Desirable qualifications and competencies: ï‚Ÿ Knowledge of and / or experience with statistical analyses.

This position is located in the Sub-regional Center for Human Rights and Democracy of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights based in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and the incumbent reports to the Chief of Africa Branch.

Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Director of Field Operations Technical Cooperation Division of OHCHR (FOTCD), and guidance of the Chief of the Africa Branch, as well as in cooperation with UN partners in the region, the incumbent will perform the following responsibilities and tasks:

Advise OHCHR regarding its regional strategy and activities, as well as regional developments which may have human rights policy and operational implications;

Follow human rights developments in the region, with a view to keeping OHCHR informed of measures for OHCHR to take in order to effectively contribute to the respect for human rights;

Provide advice to Governments and other regional partners regarding human rights related aspects of their activities and assist them in addressing human rights issues that are relevant to their mandate;

As a member of the UN Regional System in Central Africa and the UN Country Teams in Central Africa, develop strategic relationships with the UN Regional Offices and UN Country Teams of the region, advising and lending support as required, especially within the framework of rights-based planning and programming initiatives, such as the Common Country Assessment/United Nations Development Assistance Framework CCA and UNDAF;

Facilitate the establishment of thematic working groups on human rights and the use by UN Country Teams of recommendations by UN human rights mechanisms;

In close collaboration with relevant sections in OHCHR Headquarters, identify and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, particularly those relating to promotion of a rights-based approach to planning and programming, coordination mechanisms, and inter-agency cooperation;

Develop, widen and enhance OHCHR's network of partners and contacts in the region and identify potential areas in cooperation for OHCHR;

Promote the ratification and implementation of international human rights instruments; Advise on strategic interventions, including country visits, by special procedures mandate holders in the region, as appropriate;

Provide advice and facilitate the provision of assistance as requested by Governments;

Participate as a resource person in human rights seminars, workshops and other activities in the region, as appropriate;

As required, undertake representational responsibilities on behalf of OHCHR and otherwise undertake assignments or missions within the region;

Manage the Sub-regional Centre for Human Rights & Democracy in Central Africa (Yaoundé Center), including supervision of international and national staff.

Competencies

PROFESSIONALISM - Knowledge of and wide exposure to the full range of human rights issues, in particular with regard to national protection systems, and human rights mainstreaming; Strong knowledge of institutional mandates and international standards pertaining to human rights; Comprehensive knowledge and experience of the Central Africa region, including its human rights and political situation,as well its culture, history and traditions; Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in advising on and handling major issues and problems; demonstrated ability to work in a strategic-action oriented way; Very good knowledge of the structure and functions of the United Nations system, its organs, agencies and programmes; Solid knowledge and experience of mainstreaming human rights in the development, humanitarian and/or peace building work of the United Nations.

COMMUNICATION - Excellent communication (Spoken, written and presentational) skills; Ability to present and defend difficult positions to external partners, stakeholders, senior officials, to persuade people with varying points of view, and to present information in a concise and accurate manner; Excellent interpersonal and proven negotiating skills.

TEAMWORK - Ability to establish and maintain trust and working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

VISION - In-depth understanding of OHCHR's strategic direction in the Central Africa region and ability to transform it into a results-oriented work programme.

LEADERSHIP - Proven ability to provide effective leadership and transfer advice and knowledge to external partners, stakeholders, senior officials and staff at all levels; Proven ability to plan and organize the work of a unit/office and provide advice and guidance to others; Proven record of building and managing teams and creating an enabling environment.

Education

Advanced university degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations or international economics or other disciplines related to human rights. A combination of relevant academic qualifications and extensive experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience

At least 10 years of international experience in human rights related field including in the region of assignment, with the workings of the UN system, in particular as regards its political, development and humanitarian functions; Experience with approaches and techniques to address highly sensitive and complex issues and problems; Substantive experience in managing projects and programmes; Proven managerial experience in successfully leading a team of professionals; Prior field experience in an OHCHR or related operation; Substantive and practical experience in the use of programming and planning tools and frameworks, such as the CCA/UNDAF and CAP/CHAP, desirable.

Languages

Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English or French (both oral and written) and working knowledge of the other is required.

Assessment Method

Competency based interview. A test may be conducted.

Write proposal for apiary development project to create two community tree nurseries, production of 20000 bee loving trees to develop six modern apiaries in six communities to increase honey production/honey bi-products to enhance livelihoods and mitigate climate change. These shall include the support of 50 hives and bee keeping equipment in each community. 619 people are direct beneficiaries 309 men, 310 women (with 170000 inhabitants as indirect beneficiaries with majority of them women).

Volunteers will work from May,June and July 2012. We shall supply them all information needed to accomplish the tasks. They can work as a team as well as individually. Volunteers will either be English or French speakers. Communication will be through email and sometimes on phone.
