Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor
Department: Supply
Reporting to: Health, Safety & Risk Manager
Category: 8 (Level 6)
No of positions: 01Contract: permanent

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor is:

* To ensure that appropriate and consistent occupational health management systems are in place at GCSA in order to protect people, brands and reputation.

* To work closely with supply management to ensure health risk management processes are in place.

* To identify and control potential health risks, monitor staff and promote healthy living.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

* A recognised occupational health or nursing qualification, a NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma, or other relevant qualification.

* Minimum 5-10 years working experience in health related management.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor, you should be able:

* To provide a health advisory service to management and a counseling service to staff.

* To advise management on employees fitness for work and any necessary adjustments to their work activities.

* To carry out employee health screening including pre-employment medical checks.

* To refer employees to the site doctor as required.

* To carry out health related training and health promotion activities.

* To identify and monitor potential health risks in the workplace.

CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

You will need to have:

* Excellent knowledge of Diageo risk management processes and policies and experience in the development of occupational health management systems.

* Excellent training capabilities and communication skills.

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

* Change management skills.

You will also need to be:

* Proficient in MS office software.

* Able to lead or work effectively in cross-functional teams.

* Able to work independently,

* Pro-active and prepared to challenge the status quo.
