International Engineering Company requires an experienced Welding Engineer to work within the oil and gas industry based in Cameroon on a long term project. You will be responsible for the management and administration of welding related activities on designated projects. Job Specification: * Represent the Company as a Welding Engineer dealing with all project technical issues and ensuring a welding engineering service to the customers is maintained. * To actively develop the internal & external consultancy business within the function * Develop where required, review and approve fabrication, welding & inspection specifications. * Evaluate project requirements and where applicable provide the necessary welding procedural information in order to cover the project scope. * Review and prepare engineering requirements regarding material selection on projects. * Periodically carry out site visits to ensure that welding is being conducted in line with the company welding control procedures. * Review and approve sub-contractors welding, post weld heat treatment and non destructive examination procedures where necessary. * Ensure welders are qualified and their certificates are prepared and maintained in accordance with company control procedures. * Maintain and continuously update the Company Welder Qualification Register. * Review contract weld repair rates and produce on a monthly basis an analysis of total repairs for the company. * Ensuring welding instruments for recording parameters are maintained in good condition and are regularly calibrated. * To maintain and update the register of company welding procedure qualification records. Personal Specification: * Fully conversant with National and International specification * Welding Engineering experience as a Welding Engineer in pipe welding within the Petrochemical/Pipeline * Ability to formulate weld procedure specifications and execute welding procedure Qualification tests within a diverse range of parent materials.
