Our client is a world leading drilling services company that has undergone strong growth over the last years, both organic and through external acquisitions. In this context we are looking for a Chief Drilling Operator (m/f)

Responsibilities:

Under the responsibility of the Project Manager based abroad, the Chief Drilling Operator will be responsible for the operation of a hydraulic or geotechnical mining drilling machine and supervise a team of drilling assistants, labourers and drivers.

The successful Chief Drilling Operator will be responsible for:

- Functions relating to the operation of the drilling machine and the supervision of the drilling personnel:

Completion of drilling operations in accordance with customer specifications and the supervisor's instructionsImplementation of proven technical expertise in drilling and adapted according to the type of operation to be performedStrict application of the maintenance instructions of the drilling equipmentSupervision of the composed drilling teams including drilling assistants, labourers and driversManagement of team changes and task distribution

- The application of the instructions specified in the safety and quality plan, including:

Implementation of internal regulations or specific regulations provided by the customerEnsuring strict compliance with safety regulations specific to the drilling equipment used and the drilling siteCoordination of daily or weekly safety training of the drilling personnel in accordance with the Health, Quality, Safety and Environment terms

- The application of the instructions specified in the safety and quality plan, including:

Implementation of internal regulations or specific regulations provided by the customerEnsuring strict compliance with safety regulations specific to the drilling equipment used and the drilling siteCoordination of daily or weekly safety training of the drilling personnel in accordance with the Health, Quality, Safety and Environment terms

- Coordination between the customer, subcontractors and local authorities, including:

Representation of the company to the customer in the absence of his / her supervisorCoordination of the intervention of contractors in line with the progress of their daily workTransmission of daily information to the supervisor and the customer regarding the work progress, equipment maintenance and the use of stock by various reportsAnticipation and expression of requirements necessary for the proper conduct of the drilling operations

Profile:

Ideally holding a Public Works diploma and with hydraulic engineering knowledge, you have at least five years of successful experience in this field (drilling and / or coring).

You will have concrete knowledge of computers (office).

You must speak English and French

Required skills:

This position requires a good capacity to adapt to local conditions, physical stamina, a team spirit and good relations.
