Senior Coordinator, Reproductive Health

Background:

The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS), local affiliate of Population Services International (PSI), seeks to recruit a Senior Coordinator in charge of Reproductive Health, within its Family Health Department.  The post holder will be part of ACMS’ Senior Management Team, and will be responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the implementation and performance of a large reproductive health project, currently being deployed in three densely populated regions of Cameroon (Central, Littoral and Northwest Regions).  The project aims to make a substantial and sustainable contribution to reducing maternal mortality in Cameroon, namely by increasing access to and the use of long-term family planning methods among women of reproductive age. 

Duty Station: Yaounde, Cameroon

Type of contract: Fixed-term

Level:  Senior Manager, entitled to local salary package and benefits.  Relocation costs are not included.  Local candidates are encouraged to apply.

Job description:

Under the supervision of the Head of the Family Health Department, the Senior Coordinator in charge of Reproductive Health will be responsible for the following duties:

Overseeing the coordination of activities under all reproductive health projects;Providing leadership to the Reproductive Health Team, and supervising Reproductive Health Coordinators;Formulating objectives and strategies for reproductive health projects;Participating and providing leadership in designing marketing plans and communication and distribution strategies;Identifying new donors and drafting proposals for new funding;Carrying out negotiations and maintaining technical and institutional partnerships at the national and international level;Liaising with Headquarters staff in Washington;Designing and monitoring budgets;Supervising the coordination of communication activities relating to reproductive health projects;Overseeing the coordination of activities for the distribution of family planning products;Overseeing the coordination of training activities relating to reproductive health projects;Overseeing the coordination of monitoring, supervision and evaluation activities;Drafting monthly, quarterly and annual project reports;Performing other duties as required.

Qualification and Work Experience

Cameroonian national;Previous experience and/or training in health, preferably reproductive health, required.  Medical (OB-GYN, Midwife, Nursing) or Public Health degree preferable;At least 5 (five) years professional experience in project and team management, project design and monitoring and evaluation;Experience collaborating with and building partner/institutional relations;Sound knowledge and experience in health project budget monitoring;Familiarity with logical framework design and monitoring;Familiarity and experience in social marketing and/or NGOs an asset;Fluency in French and English;Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills;Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
