Job overview

* Deliver /optimize volume and yield targets in line with Africa 1st strategy while remaining focused on relationship building
* Manage sales pipeline, segmentation, and accurate forecasting
* Develop a sales plan and cascade the budget
* Monitor performance against KPI and take corrective action where necessary
* Manage and coach a team of individuals to optimal performance
* Deliver customer satisfaction surveys targets
* Manage coordination with other channels
* Oversee trade and marketing desk to ensure feedback from customers and knowledge of the market pace is gathered, analysed and actioned on
Key responsibilities

Coaching and development

* Develop sales force skills and provide ongoing coaching to sales reps
* Develop new sales talent
* Challenge and support sales reps in identifying, prioritizing and taking profit improvement actions
* Coordinate product/market specific training as neededSales support

* Maintain relationships with top accounts and participate in sales calls
* Maintain relationships with other ML sales channels managers to facilitate best practice sharing and cross trade sales. This includes regular follow up with origin ports to improve loads and market participation
* Approve proposals and contract terms for accounts that require sales handling beyond established guidelinesSales team performance

* Hold sales rep reviews focusing on overall profitability and specific accounts
* Continually educate and train sales force on managing profitable accounts
* Set goals with sales reps and track progress using KPIs
* Manage forecasting/budget process to align with divisional goalsDevelop and maintain sales strategy

* Manage overall business portfolio to maximize revenues and profitability; monitor and report on critical KPIs
* Leverage understanding of local business environment to support the development of sales and marketing strategy
* Tight coordination with the Marketing team both locally and in CenterKey metrics (KPIs)

* Proven sales management experience
* Demonstrated results - performance, leadership and organizational wise
* Known and recognized for living APMM values
* Ability to drive effective empowerment to the front line
* Strong knowledge about ML products and services
* Strong knowledge about market, competitor and industry trends
* Strong financial-related expertise
