The role and responsibility for this job may change over time, but initially we will include, but not be limited to:
Student Database System Management
Overseeing the daily operations of the student databaseRunning daily, weekly, monthly and custom reports for information in the systemDeveloping reports from the student database which may involve writing light scriptsReporting to the system developer any identified system issues and suggest beneficial changes.Training the student Database operators .Implementing system updates,patches, and configuration changes sent by system developers for the server and other terminals.Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.Performing routine audits of systems and software.Adding, removing, or updating the manager user account information, resetting passwords etcAny other duties that may be advised by management from time to time.Overseeing the daily operations of other custom system, like the SMS payment systemReporting to the system developer any identified system issues and suggest beneficial changes.Training new users of the system and helping resolve problems with existing usersHelping to develop specification for Sugar CRM systemsDebugging problems with new systemsInstalling and deploying new custom software or upgradesEnsuring the database reconciles with the bank statementsMatching student fees in the bank and Mpesa statementReporting bills and income to Finance DepartmentUpdating Navision Ledger with school fees data and checking transfers from Sugar to Navision for School expenses.You may be required to cover for other people’s role, but it will usually be related to the systems processes support tasks above.
You will be reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration for all practical matters related to your job, since the student database system is the link between our income and our financial system.
You will also be reporting to the director of IT all technical issues
Skills and aptitudes required
Good IT skills with proven experience in data base management and strong hands on competence in excel. Knowledge of Navision will be a plusAnalytical with strong attention to detailsHigh numeracy skillsRelevant Bachelors degreeFoundation accounting/finance skills-foundation level ACCA/CIMA/CPA preferred.1-2 years experience in a computerized environmentHigh level of integrity with good references from 3 professionalsEnergy and drive to excelTeam playerAbility to work with minimal supervisionPassion for education finance excellence.Please send your resume to recruitment@dpckenya.com by 22nd of August 2011
