External Job Description PURPOSE

·To act as a partner in creating the business strategy.

·To lead the development and implementation of the GCSA Organisation & People strategy which supports the business in the achievement of its strategic goals and releases the potential of all GCSA employees

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Degree level, Preferable HR Qualification.

· Excellent command of spoken and written French and English is a must.

· 6-8 years generalist HR Experience preferably within a similar blue chip FMCG environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

·Lead the development and implementation of the GCSA Organisation and People strategy

·Manage Organisation and People Development Review process for GCSA

·Act as partner in the development of business strategy

·Converts strategy into execution

·Identify of the organisation capabilities that support business strategy and develops plans to close gaps.

·Take the lead working with the Exec team to ensure that GCSA operating model is aligned to the achievement of the company's strategic goals.

·Support line managers in employee relations issues

· Create inspiring work environments, which maximize the contribution of all our employees.

·Develop employer brand for GCSA, which is effective in attracting a diverse talent pool both internally and externally.

·Develop & action long term talent resourcing strategy and plans to meet organisation needs.

·Work with Leadership Team and line managers to embed processes, which drive employee development to meet organisation needs.

·Support line managers in implementing effective resourcing and development plans.

·Act as coach to the Leadership Team on organisation and people issues

·coach and develop HR team within GCSA

· Ensure that GCSA reward systems are aligned to the delivery of outstanding performance.

·Develop and implement effective retention plans for key resources.

·Embed a culture of recognition within GCSA

·Set, agree and manage annual HR budget for GCSA

· Range of recruitment consultants.

Lutech Resources have been asked by our client, an International Company, to provide an Offshore Surveyor (Naval Architect/Marine Engineer) for a role based in Cameroon.
Position Summary ? To examine and report on vessels and other marine structures during and after construction in compliance with standards and requirements to maintain vessel/structures in accordance with their classification. Perform work that involves potentially complex problem resolution. Visit vessels, marine structures and manufacturers. Prepare reports for clients. Work directly with clients to identify and resolve problems in your area of expertise.

Skills Required ? A degree of equivalent from a recognised institution within Engineering/Science, or relevant qualifications from a marine/nautical institution. Working knowledge of computer programs and software packages related to area of expertise. Knowledge of rules, regulations and safety at sea. Ability to read engineering plans and have a basic understanding of shipbuilding practices and vessel and operations.

Bioversity International's global programme on Forest Genetic Resources Conservation and Use (FGR) is active in Sub-Saharan Africa and seeks a scientist with knowledge of forest genetics. The objectives of the programme include understanding status and threats and how to conserve the genetic resources of priority tree species that are important for people's well-being. Bioversity International works closely with partners in developing and developed countries to carry out research activities. Within the context of the CGIAR Research Programme on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (CRP6), Bioversity's FGR programme staff work closely with the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) to produce joint outputs. The position is located in Yaounde, Cameroon on the campus of CIFOR.

Key responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Research Theme Leader, appointee will have the following responsibilities:

Contribute to research design and implementation of FGR activities in collaboration with partners in SSA;Contribute to the assessment of research needs to support the sustainability of FGR in the region;Contribute to data collection and analysis, and overseeing students;Contribute to delivery of scientific outputs in CRP6 including the development of guidelines, publications in scientific journals;Participate in the development of scientific grant proposals;Contribute to capacity development of scientists, practitioners and other stakeholders in the region;Contribute to the development of special reports including the FAO's report on the State of the World's Forest Genetic Resources and other regional and global initiatives;Maintain partnerships with national and regional research partners including the SAFORGEN network.

Essential qualifications and competencies:

A PhD in Forest Genetics or related field.Minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in an international work environment and including field research in a development context.Knowledge of forest ecology and tree biology.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels and build consensus in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.Excellent command of the English language; working knowledge of French, both verbal and written.  Strong analytical and synthesizing skills; ability to write clear and concise scientific documents.  Proficiency in relevant software packages (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint).

Desirable qualifications and competencies:  Knowledge of and / or experience with statistical analyses.

Terms and conditions: This is an internationally recruited position. Bioversity International offers an attractive remuneration package including a competitive salary, non-contributory retirement plan, medical insurance, housing allowance and leave provisions. Wellsite Geologists, Frontier Resources Ltd


Major Operator seeks to recruit a Wellsite Geologist. This role is based in West Africa and is offered on a permanent basis.

The Wellsite Geologist is required for an extensive drilling operation that is due to start in June 2012 and is offered on a 28 day rotational basis with approximately 85% of the time spent offshore on a Jack-up Rig.

The successful candidate must have previous experience on; Horizontal and highly deviated development wells, deviated appraisal wells and sidetracked development wells.

Background

Somalia Mine Action supports mine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) clearance activities, awareness programming, contamination survey and coordination for mine action activities throughout Somalia.
