Provision of:

Senior Reservoir / Development Geologist for 6 months

Experience of at least 10 years is required.One of them should have a project management background.Fluent English is compulsory, fluent French would be a plus.

Scope of work:

The team will bring support to the operator by reviewing all available subsurface data on the license, to produce a detailed update of Gas in Place figures (including P90/P50/P10 ranges analysis). A resources assessment based on a notional development plan will also be proposed.The team will be integrated to the operator staff in Douala and will report to the local project manager.

Chief Geologist - Cameroon

Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Geologist will oversee the company's technical aspects including geology, resource development, surveying, mine exploration and industrial production activities and will supervise the work of mine geologists.

Location: Djoum, South Region, Cameroon

Key Roles and Accountability

- Manage the Technical departments, specifically geology department and evaluate resources
- Develop and implement exploration and resource definition drill programs,
- Interpret geologic and assay data and provide support for short-term and long-term mine production planning.
- Inspect mining areas for unsafe working conditions and structures.
- Plan and supervise early stage exploration activities in the field including preparation of and sampling of exploration pits and trenches, mapping and initial drill programme
- QAQC evaluation - Oversee geological logging of drill core and sampling protocols (including magnetic susceptibility and specific gravity records) and data capture
- Oversee collation of environmental data and water sampling
- Train trainee geologists/prospectors/team leaders
- Prepare monthly, annual and budget reports
- Interpretation of data obtained from the above activities
- Supervise the annual clearing of mine permit limits monuments
- General and technical report writing
- The position also entails organisation of equipment and personnel

Key Criteria

- Tertiary qualification (MSc or greater) in geology or related discipline
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of mineral exploration (preference to base metal and iron ore exploration)
- Proven practical team-management experience in exploration programmes
- Bi-lingual French and English.
- Competent in observing and interpreting geological features
- Leadership skills with demonstrable organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- A conscientious attitude towards health and safety is a must.

My client is an established TSX and AIM listed iron ore development company with projects in Central Africa.

The Company is managed by a team with strong track records in the discovery and development of new commercial deposits. There focus is on the fast track development of the Company's two most recent flagship assets: 2 Iron Ore projects, 1 based in Cameroon & 1 based in Liberia.

The project based in Cameroon are on the lookout for a Chief Geologist to join the team.

The Chief Geologist is responsible for the delivery of geological services across all company production centres. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will:

• Impart to others a safe work attitude;
• Be ultimately responsible for the integrity of mine geology systems, processes and reports;
• Safeguard the delivery of geological services to all production centres;
• Provide guidance and mentoring to mine geologists and other staff;
• Ensure timely resource modelling, QAQC, reconciliation and reporting; and,
• Liaise with staff from across the company and external consultants.

As the ideal candidate you will:

• Have at least 15 years experience in a variety of surface and underground mining environments
• Have at least 6 years experience dealing with Iron Ore
• Have demonstrated management success within the mining industry
• A stable & solid working history
• Be familiar with computer & software packages and the application of QAQC procedures
• It would be preferable if the candidate is a fluent French speaker
• Previous African experience is preferable
• Education Possesses the equivalent of a tertiary degree or higher
• Management Must be able to single handed manage field and exploration crews, including assess situations and staff
• Set up training modules for junior staff

· Principal responsibility for the development, implementation and maintenance of suitable sampling QA/QC procedures

· Interpretation, modelling and reporting of data acquired during exploration and resource development programs
· Resource estimation (to “sign off” stage)
· Assisting with the compilation of internal and statutory reports
· Verbal and written English/French or French/English translation
· Cultivating and maintaining a comprehensive network of mining industry contacts to ensure opportunities for the Company’s involvement are identified and pursued

ESSENTIAL BACKGROUND

· Undergraduate degree (or higher) in geology
· More than eight years experience in exploration with the majority being in iron ore
· Drill program design, implementation and leadership experience (RC and diamond drilling)
· Creating, implementing and monitoring sample QAQC programs

The following criteria will be well regarded

· Bilingual, French/English; speaking and writing
· Recent experience with geological computing applications (databases, plotting)
· International experience, especially ‘emerging economy’ states and jungle environment

This is a FIFO role with a 6:2 roster. In country, you will be based in camp.

Reporting directly to (and working inter-dependently with) the Exploration Manager, the Senior Project Geologist will be responsible for a range of aspects of the Company’s business interests in the country.

The immediate focus of the role is exploration and feasibility drilling programs in remote areas. Sampling, training and leadership of nationals in all aspects of exploration are core components of the role.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Manage large scale exploration projects from grass roots level to feasibility stages
· Effective leadership and professional development of the Company’s geological team in the country
