Social Officer (Maternity Cover), Wildlife Wood Project, Cameroon
A position is available, starting as soon as possible, as the social officer for the Zoological Society of London (ZSL)’s Wildlife Wood Project in Cameroon. The Wildlife Wood Project engages the timber industry, Cameroonian government and local communities in sustainable wildlife conservation in the timber production forests of the Congo Basin. The project provides support to build stakeholder capacity for wildlife conservation, develop and implement monitoring and management tools on the ground and engage at the policy level to help create an environment supportive of the project’s long term vision.
The successful candidate will focus on three main areas:
S/he will be responsible for leading on all project community engagement activities, including the successful development and implementation of joint anti-poaching efforts between local communities and other stakeholders. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing a long term strategy for engaging with stakeholders at the local and national level to change behaviour in favour of conservation through a social marketing programme. This will be done in close partnership with the London based discovery and learning team. The post holder will also lead on designing and implementing appropriate socio-economic studies to guide project activities and monitor and evaluate outcomes.
This is a 9 month position with the potential for extension. The post will be based in Yaoundé with regular trips to remote field sites in East Cameroon. Some travel within Central Africa may be required.
The post holder should have at least 2 years experience working with rural communities ideally in Africa, experience applying participatory techniques and a postgraduate qualification in social science, education or demonstrated research skills in these fields. Experience in CEPA, social marketing, conservation, community development and/or tropical forestry would be an advantage. The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both spoken and written French and English.
A base salary of £20,576-£25,093 p.a., plus benefits including, annual return flight from Europe to Cameroon, visa, and insurance under ZSL’s group travel insurance policy will be provided. The position is to start as soon as possible.

Technical Advisor & Trainer, Wildlife Wood Project, Cameroon
The Zoological Society of London is looking for an experienced tropical forestry specialist for its Wildlife Wood Project on a 10 month consultancy starting January 2013.
The successful candidate will work closely with ZSL’s wildlife monitoring and social team and staff of partner logging companies in Cameroon to develop a practical model for best practice wildlife management in timber concessions. This work will form the basis for producing a toolkit for sustainable wildlife management in production forests to assist the sector to meet certification standards, contribute to tropical forest conservation and sustainable natural resource management in the region.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with experience of working in the tropical forestry sector, including francophone Africa, a good knowledge of timber operations, demonstrated skills in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems, knowledge and ideally experience of systems for controlling illegal activities on timber concessions, experience of delivering training and mentoring junior professionals, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fluent in French. They will be responsible for developing, and validating wildlife management plans and delivering the necessary training and support materials to companies to enable them to implement them. A key deliverable will be to develop a toolkit for sustainable wildlife management in timber production forests, including the production of a practical handbook synthesising the work in collaboration with the ZSL team, and other stakeholders in the forestry sector.
The consultant will be recruited for 10 months under a contract for service with attractive fee package, housing and one return flight from Europe to Cameroon (or equivalent). The post will be based in two field sites in East Cameroon (Mindourou and Mbang – Haut Nyong), with occasional trips to Yaoundé and Douala. Some travel within Central Africa may also be required.

TASK
Volunteers will be searching online website for grant/donation in accordance with the project.- Volunteers will be looking for NGOs who can support us with some materials (Laptop, water pomp, entrepreneurial books, flat screen TV, DVD, Camera...)
- volunteers will help draft letters and correspondence for the sponsorship request.
- Volunteer will provide us necessary information to apply with our "summer 2013" project Proposal (they will not be asked to submit proposals on our behalf).
The Project will be held in Bangoua and Babouantou villages with physical volunteers from July 1st to August 31st 2013.
Timeframe for online work: November 10th, 2012 to May 30, 2013.
Duration of online work: 6,5months
Organisation of online work: 2 online meetings per week: at the begining and at the end of week to evaluate and setup new goals.
Meeting by skype.
All online volunteer will receive full information about the project itself and updates.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This online research for Grant and donation will help us deliver the project because we need the financial and material support as far is not easy here in Cameroon to get it. And we can not be efficient or deliver a project without ressources. We already have human ressources for the projects and also expertise because we have realized already two summer projects in those two villages.
OBJECTIVE
The project aim to educate people in field of Entrepreneurship (business plan creation process), HIV/AIDS peer educators training and community sensitization, Water point rehabilitation, Computer training for youth to empower the community. We by work of online volunteers; wish to fundraise 5000USD (or equivalent in funds materials/logistics donations. this will give chance to youths in the villages to be train on recent knowledges on the4 topics.

French Speaker Needed for Research Project
(days): Willing to spend: not specified I need a freelancer who's first language is French for a 5 day project between 10th - 14th September. There is no selling involved, but you need to have a good telephone manner, be comfortable working with the internet and have excellent typing skills.
You are required to make calls to my clients existing customers and ask just 2 quick questions. Each call should last around 2 minutes max. The first question requires the customer to respond on a 0-10 rating, whilst the second gives them the opportunity to respond to an open ended question in their own words.
This feedback needs to be captured word-for-word in the local language and then translated to English. Therefore an excellent grammatical understanding of the above language and English is necessary, together with listening and typing skills. The ability to record calls is a bonus but not a necessity.

Description
The Customer Project Manager ensures that a contract for products and/or services is delivered to the satisfaction of the customer and Ericsson. To do this, a CPM breaks down and clarifies the project scope, secures the necessary resources, plans and monitors all necessary activities. During the project, the CPM should normally be the lead person for add on sales opportunity generation.
A project manager can work in one or more areas. Some typical customer project types are:
· Installation and extensions of customer networks
· Design of customer solutions

Working as a Customer Project Manager requires a deep knowledge within the project management disciplines. The CPM is expected to work, cooperate and communicate in an international environment, with colleagues internally as well as Ericsson’s customers and suppliers.
A CPM must:
· depending on project category and complexity, participate in pre-sales.
· take a big financial responsibility both for managing the customer project as well as the customer relationship.
· travel internationally and work in different cultural environments.
A CPM at career stage experienced leads, organizes, plans, and delivers medium-size, medium risk, customer projects. The project does normally have moderate complexity..
Accountabilities1. Prepare a project specification
2. Establish a project budget.
3. Develop a risk management plan
4. Establish a quality management plan.
5. Monitors execution in accordance with a preliminary timetable and budget.
6. Agree with the customer on project requirements.
7. Gain approval for the project from the project sponsor, based on the project specification. This is a prerequisite to initiate the establishment of the project. The project will be executed in line with PROPS/C and EBP processes.
8. Select the project members.
9. Lead and control project work.
10. Reports the project progression to the steering group and sponsor.
Qualifications
· Academic degree coupled with qualified experience, including project work and at least 3 years of project management experience
· Managerial experience is not a must, but is an advantage
· In-depth technical skills related to the subject area
· Possess a general knowledge of the telecom’s industry's potentials. Possess deep knowledge about major customer’s situation on the market and their technical development stage
