Lead Mechanical Field Engineer

The Sabine Pass Liquefaction (SPLNG) Project is a grass roots 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Louisiana, (near Port Arthur, TX), adjacent to the existing Sabine Pass Gasification NA will be performed predominantly on a Direct Hire basis with some specialized scope Subcontracted (Soil Stabilization, piling, insulation, etc.). Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial Direct Hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below.

Lead Mechanical Field Engineer at the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project, responsible for oversight of all mechanical field engineering activities and staff. The position will be permanently located at the jobsite until full completion of all mechanical scope within the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintains fluid properties on rig sites by testing fluid properties accurately. Maintains inventory at customer well sites. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Under broad direction provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems at the well site where analysis of data requires having a broad knowledge of the product line(s)) tool(s)) and/or service. 

Work is evaluated upon completion by a Field Supervisor (where appropriate), local Operations Management and the external Customer to ensure objectives have been met.
Acts as a project leader and mentors junior field engineers.

Basic Qualifications

Graduate Field Engineer - Cameroon

Role Synopsis

Field engineers at Baker Hughes deliver front-line technical services and solutions across our drilling, evaluation, completion and production technologies. These are hands-on roles, often outdoors and in demanding or harsh conditions, such as offshore on an oil rig or onshore in the desert.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Field engineers are the key interface between Baker Hughes and our clients on the wellsite. You will be required to participate in the three-year LEAD Program to provide you with the ability to quickly become competent with our technologies and processes, enabling rapid career progression through a sequence of competency-based development steps.

LEAD involves theoretical and hands-on learning. It is flexible and adaptable to different job requirements and work environments. You will be assigned to a specific Baker Hughes product line whose activities may include:

artificial lift services

logging while drilling drill bits wireline activities specialty chemicals wellbore intervention drilling fluids cased hole completions coring systems sand control systems directional systems wellbore construction

You will be required to participate in developmental activities which will initially focus on acquiring basic knowledge while working under supervision and will progress to working unsupervised, with a broadening scope of knowledge and skills.

Depending upon your product line assignment, you will be involved in technical activities which could include;

Assembling and deploying down-hole equipment at base location prior to being dispatched to well-site. Down-hole equipment may be a combination of electrically, mechanically, or hydraulically activated and operated specialized equipment
Designing well-site interventions under supervision using simulation software packages
Analyzing rig-site performance data and recommending changes to product configurations
Assisting sales representatives in business development activities including presenting to clients under supervision

Basic Qualifications

As well as fluency in English (able to achieve Level 5 on a global English test) and the legal right to work in the country in the region in which you have applied without any restrictions, you will need:
A four-year technical degree or Master's, completed within the past 24 months, in chemical engineering
chemistry ( organic or inorganic) electrical engineering geology geosciences industrial engineering instrumentation engineering mathematics mechanical engineering mechatronics petroleum engineering physics another engineering-related subject. At least three of the following: a minimum grade point average of 3.5/4.0 (2.1) or equivalent relevant work experience evidence of practical / technical capability evidence of relevant extra-curricular activity.
Desired / Preferred Qualifications
We're looking for people with self-awareness, self-motivation and persistence as well as resilience and adaptability. You will also need to show creative problem-solving and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A valid driver's license with a clean driving record may be required in some locations.

Applications & Sales Specialist, BD Biosciences Eastern Africa
(2 Positions)

Location: East Africa, Nairobi

This position reports to the Applications & Training Supervisor, Eastern Africa

Role:

The BD Biosciences Application & Sales Specialist will be responsible for BD Biosciences customer training on Flow Cytometry instruments in the region as well as the sales and promotion of clinical/ research applications.

Key Responsibilities include:

Providing application and technical support to BD Biosciences customers in the Eastern Africa region.Addressing customer’s inquiries about product, applications, software and instruments.Participation in workshops, exhibitions, congresses or trade shows and to give lectures where necessary.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,Training and presentation skills and strong customer focus.Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision, a high degree of self motivation and ethical values.
A Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences or Biomedical technology or Alternative qualifications with commensurate work experienceProfessional Skills and Experience:
Professional experience working in a clinical laboratory (Immunology) is advantageous.Proficiency in PC & MAC software applications.Fluency in English and Kiswahili is essential (spoken and written). French would be advantageous.Able to work independently and prepared for extensive travel within Eastern AfricaField Service Team Leader - Eastern Africa
Location: East Africa, Nairobi

This position reports to the Technical Service Manager, Africa

Role:

The Field Service Team Leader will be responsible for direct leadership, management and coaching of the Eastern Africa Technical Service Team.

Key Responsibilities include:

Leading and coaching a team of field service engineers in the Eastern Africa regionManaging and monitoring the daily operations & performance of the BD technical support team to ensure optimal customer support and satisfaction.Developing and implementation of technical support strategies ensuring continuous delivery of outstanding technical service.Leadership, coaching, communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent planning and organisational skills.Other key strengths include strategic thinking, results oriented and people management skills coupled with a high degree of ethical standards.

Education and Qualifications:

A Degree in Engineering or Alternative qualifications with commensurate work experienceA Masters Degree or Diploma in Business is advantageousProfessional Skills and Experience:
Must have at least 5 years Technical Engineering experience.Experience in organising and managing a technical team to achieve set goals and budgets is preferred.Fluency in English (spoken and written).Additional fluency in Kiswahili and French is an advantage.Ability to work independently and prepared for extensive travel within Eastern Africa and to regional and global BD locations.
Field Service Engineer - Eastern Africa
Location: East Africa, Nairobi

This position reports to the Field Service Team Leader, Eastern Africa

Role:

To deliver outstanding technical support on the assigned BD instruments and systems to the customers within the region in order to guarantee customer satisfaction.On site support/ operational excellence involving installations, relocation, certifications and repairs of assigned BD instruments and systemsRemote support, diagnostics and troubleshooting.Field corrective actions and preventive maintenanceCommitment to teamwork and ability to work with minimal supervisionStrong customer focus, & attention to detail,Flexible and highly adaptable to work in changing environments.Ability to accept personal responsibility coupled with high ethical values.Degree/ Diploma in Engineering preferably in Electronic/ Electrical Engineering or related fields.Professional Skills and Experience:
3 or more years experience in technical engineering/ service.Experience in the medical instruments/ systems field is advantageous.Proficiency in PC & MAC software applications.Fluency in English and Kiswahili is essential (spoken and written).
