Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament Cap 441 of 1979 of the laws of Kenya.

It was set to plan and coordinate the implementation of programmes and projects that transcend administrative boundaries of the districts in North Western part of Kenya.

The Authority wishes to re-advertise the following positions of Chief Managers:-

Job Descriptions

Reports to the Managing DirectorProvides technical direction for the development, design and system integration for service engagement from definition phase through to implementationApplies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service of the AuthorityReview work of development teamsDemonstrate clear understanding of the role of regional development in Kenya’s social economic development and particularly in line with vision 2030Recognize system deficiencies and implements effective solutions for Agricultural Engineering, Mining and Environmental activitiesManages technical resources within budget and projects scheduleConsistently delivers high-quality services to the Authority and/or clientsCapability to coordinate the technical services of the Authority to offer efficient servicesA degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related fields from a recognized universityMust have served in a senior management position for at least 5 yearsMust be registered with the relevant professional bodiesComputer literateA master’s degree in the relevant field is an added advantageShould be above 35 years of age2. Job description

Reports to the Managing DirectorDevelop and manage a comprehensive Human Resource system including the welfare and pension issues of the AuthorityDevelopment of effective tools to assist in creating an optimal organizational structure and productive work environment (HR guideline materials including hand books, orientation manuals, performance appraisals tools, induction programmes etc)Encourage a positive and team-focused working environment by setting standards of good communication and ensure staff behaviour is in line with the organizations core valuesEnsure succession plans are in place for key leadership rolesAssessment of training needs and career developmentManagement of a staff training programme and should be conversant with labour / industrial relation lawsMasters degree in Human Resource Management/Development, Commerce, Social Sciences, Humanities or other related fields from a recognized universityPost graduate or HND in Human Resource ManagementRegistered with a Human Resource Professional bodyMust have served in a senior management position for at least 5 yearsComputer literateShould be above 35 years of ageAn attractive remuneration package commensurate with responsibility of the job and experience

All the positions will be on a three year renewable contract terms of service.

Finance Admin Job In An NGO.

Job Title : Finance and Administration Officer
Location : Nairobi

Reporting to
: Executive Director
The Africa Platform for Social Protection (APSP)
APSP is a network of individuals and organizations operating at sub-national, national
and regional levels, with a commitment to promoting and strengthening the social contract

between states and citizens through promotion of active engagement of African civil
society in the shaping of Social Protection policies, programmes, and practices in Africa.
APSP is now active in 25 countries in Africa
and Responsibilities:
1.1 Performance Management: Set performance objectives in consultation with staff.
Monitor, coach and continuously appraise staff in the process of meeting the set
objectives
1.2 Treasury: Supervise the APSP’s banking arrangements to ensure adequate liaison
with principle bankers and minimize APSP’s exposure to currency gains and
losses
1.3 Grant and Contract Accounting and Management: Lead and guide in the timely
preparation of the APSP annual and quarterly financial review – status of annual
budgets, phased budgets and program support cost funding
1.4 Financial Management: Establish and maintain effective financial and accounting
policies, procedures and systems for the APSP in compliance with GAAP, IFRS,
local statutes and donor requirements. These should be documented in the Financial
Manual and updated when necessary
1.4 Governance & Partners support: Provide financial management support to partner
organizations to track expenditures made from grants made by APSP.
1.5 Human Resource, Administration and Procurement
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws and other statutory requirements with
regards to tax, pension, insurance, medical, and workman’s compensation.
• Ensure that appropriate procurement policies and procedures are followed and
an asset register for the APSP is maintained.
• Ensure compliance with various donors financial and procurement procedures

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in management of a finance department of an NGO in a
multi-cultural setting, having worked with and provided training to partners
Education Criteria:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a certified accountant and a member of a
professional body i.e. ICPA(K)

Administrative Associate (Protocol)

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Administrative Associate (Protocol) facilitates and advises on protocol and visa matters for the country office and other agencies administered by UNDP ensuring high quality and accuracy of work in order to obtain optimum protocol services.

The Administrative Associate (Protocol) works in close collaboration with the Operations, Programme and Project teams in the country office, government counterparts, diplomatic missions and other resident and non-resident agencies.

Administrative Associate
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Operations Manager, the Administrative Associate assists in the overall management of administrative services, administers and executes processes and transactions ensuring high quality and accuracy of work.

The Administrative Associate works in close collaboration with the Operations, UNDSS and other UN agencies staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.
