1. Duties and responsibilities

Accounting of IITA Cameroon Station expenditure and receivables.Preparation of the NRS payroll and salaries/wages for payments.Processing advances and claims for payment and maintain the cash advance register for follow up on the reimbursements of the advances.Preparation of invoices and chargeback statements for services provided to individuals or other institutions and partners.Processing government taxes and NSIF contributions for prompt payment.Undertake the physical cash count and check/review the cash balance certificate;Check and verify Station finance and accounting reports before posting.Preparation of Station Imprest.Assist the Station Administrator in the preparation of the station’s capital and operating budget.Preparation of the reconciliation statement of all Station bank accounts.Preparation of the Station Cash Certificate.Assist the Assets & inventory Clerk in handling assets inventory and disposal.Respond to account inquiries and provide prompt feedback to users.Filing and keeping IITA Cameroon accounting supporting documents and records (electronic and hard copies).Supervise the Station Cashier and Station Data Entry clerk.Perform out any other duty assigned by the Station Administrator.Availability to work longer than normal hours particularly during busy periods such as needed during end of month reporting.Travel in the immediate terms will not be required, but that may change depending on station needs especially for projects based in neighboring countries which may require accounting supervision.

2. Education Level and Qualifications:

A High Diploma in Accounting (HND or BTS (francophone) is highly desirable, but minimum requirement is GCEAL Technical (Accounting) or “Baccalaureat Technique” (Comptabilité) GCEOL plus 3 years of experience as accountant, preferably with international organizations.Other relevant trainings and certification.

3. Core Competencies:

Excellent computer skills and knowledge of modern accounting software.Strong analytical skills that include good attention to detailsGood knowledge and experience in accounting systems used by international organizations.Ability and experience in working in a diverse and multi-cultural environment with several nationalities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate in English and French both orally and in writing.

4. Duty Station: IITA-Cameroon Station, Yaoundé.

5. General Information: Initial appointment is for two years with a probation period as per Cameroon Labor Code. IITA offers a competitive remuneration package paid in FCFA. This package includes base pay and housing and transport allowances. In addition, IITA Cameroon pays the premium of a competitive health benefit package, contributes to CNPS, pays for daily catered lunch to its entire staff, and provides a paid annual leave, with days of leave depending on pay grade.

We are looking for a Financial Controller who will ensure that financial performance is improved in all areas reflected and guarantee an environment of effective controls and compliance in programme offices (PO). The incumbent will also develop and roll out training, tools and support for finance staff and other staff on finance and control topics. Location:

Yaounde, Cameroon Country Programme Office

Main responsibilities:

Ensures effective implementation of all adopted financial policies, procedures and legal requirements in the programme;
Streamlines financial processes and procedures in the Programme, and promote or implements new financial initiatives and requirements;
Ensure that the review of PO trial balances is done timely and corrections are made when necessary;
Conducts regular reviews at PO field projects to identify control gaps and areas of non-compliance with PO policies and procedures;

What you need:

Required Qualifications

Accounting certifications (ACCA, CPA) and/or Master Degree in international business or finance, business administration and management.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant professional experience in finance or accounting is essential. This must include at least two (2) years of management experience working in multicultural and decentralized teams. An experience in NGO and/or international organization and the knowledge of WWF's network will be an asset.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of financial issues, including financial reporting, controlling and budgeting;
Excellent knowledge of financial management and related control policies;
Strong analytical skills;
Good proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office package especially MS Excel, and of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software ;
Availability to travel in field projects both inside or/and outside the country;
Excellent inter-personal and general communication skills;
Ability to train others, explain complex concepts in a simple manner and drive change and high performance to other staffs;
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely in English and French

The WWF Central Africa Regional Programme Office (CARPO) is looking for a Regional Fundraising & Partnerships Director in order to:

 Ensure that WWF CARPO and its Country Offices develop and maintain positive and effective partnerships and purposeful relationships relevant to the implementation of CARPO Strategic Plan and related country strategies, with internal fundraising sources as well as with public finance partners, private donors, foundations and business sector partners;  Ensure that partner engagement maximizes funding potential but also supports policy dialogue and capacity development of private and public institutions involved in conservation;

Location: The position is based in Yaoundé - Cameroon Duration: Two years (02) renewable.

Main responsibilities: Reporting to the Regional Representative, the Regional Fundraising & Partnerships Director's major duties and responsibilities will include:

Developing, implementing and periodically revising a Fundraising and Partnerships Strategy for CARPO/GHOA.Ensuring the establishment of a functional cross-regional fundraising and partnerships network for CARPO and providing support, backstopping and guidance to regional and national staff in fundraising and partnership matters at all levels;Ensuring effective implementation of CARPO-GHoA proposal and contract management systems and adherence of relevant staff in CARPO and in Country Offices to WWF Network Standards and best practices for engaging with public finance partners, private donors, foundations and business sector partners;Contributing to solutions to ensure that country and field programs comply with donor agreements, e.g., timely technical and financial reporting to donors, etc.; Identifying and overseing management of major reputational risks for WWF related to execution of grant and partnerships contracts;Contributing to the design and implementation of innovative and sustainable funding mechanisms for conservation contributing to the implementation of CARPO/GHOA Strategic Plan and develop and manage partnerships agreements, as needed;

What you need: Required Qualifications Required Functional Skills

Advanced university degree in business management, international relations, Development Studies or related fields;At least 7 years professional experience in inter-institutional relationship management, program development and fundraising;Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and French;Knowledge and experience of the realities of conservation & development issues, donor strategies, funding instruments and contract administration.

Overview: The scale up of malaria prevention has in many places resulted in significant reductions of malaria burden of disease. As a result the age-old practice of equating fever with malaria is no longer recommended, as on average about 60% of presumptive cases are indeed not malaria. In addition to the demands of good patient care, indiscriminate use of ACTs not only wasteful but could lead to emergence of resistances to ACTs. In this light the most recent WHO Guidelines for the Treatment of Malaria state that parasitological confirmation by microscopy or Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) is recommended in all patients before treatment is started. This has now been adopted as public policy by Cameroon's Ministry of Public Health. To support this policy, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) has been supporting the Ministry of Public Health in the introduction and roll out of Malaria RDTs since January 2011. In 2012, we will support the government of Cameroon in the roll out of RDTs across the country.

In this light, we are seeking a dynamic Malaria Diagnosis Project Manager to provide management support and technical expertise to the Cameroon's Ministry of Public Health through the National Malaria Control Program in partnership with other key country stakeholders to facilitate rapid implementation of activities related to the nationwide scale-up of RDTs. The Project Manager will assist the country in establishing and/or strengthening the building blocks for introducing a new technology (e.g., forecasting and product selection, behavior change strategy) and help to identify barriers to successful distribution, uptake, and adherence at all levels. The Project manager will be a experienced highly motivated, energetic, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding problem solving, managerial, analytical, and communication skills. S/he must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence. The position will be based in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and other partners in strengthening commodity forecasting, product selection and procurement, and quality assurance processes for RDTs;Assess and improve upon existing training manuals, job aides, and communication materials related to RDTs;Carry-out rapid baseline survey in pilot health facility level to determine current barriers to distribution and uptake of RDTs;Support the design, launch, and management of an operational research project to test creative solutions to RDT distribution or uptake challenges identified and inform the development of national policy;Develop an inventory monitoring tool to improve RDT supply planning at the regional / district levels;Coordinate with other initiatives in country to ensure that RDT scale-up activities fit within a broader national context;Build capacity within the NMCP and other in-country partners to manage the RDT program;Ensure CHAI's activities are conducted according to work plan and budget;Collaborate closely and develop strong relationships with national governments, regional institutions, and key partner organizations to ensure coordination of resources and efforts.

In order to ensure the development and implementation of the WWF Cameroon Conservation Strategy in line with the Green Heart Of Africa Global Initiative and other Global Programme Framework priorities to the highest standards, the WWF seeks a Conservation Manager for its Cameroon Country Programme Office.

Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Conservation Manager's major duties and responsibilities are:

Takes responsibility for planning process in Cameroon in accordance with the Regional Strategic Plan.Initiates, evaluates and develops concepts, descriptions, operating plans and budgets for new projects in Cameroon.Actively fundraises for approved projects,Ensures appropriate Human resources are in place for delivering programme objectives;Coordinates the implementation and management of WWF projects in Cameroon, and provides them with technical assistance. This includes performing on-site supervision to evaluate specific project progress, organizing and participating in meetings to help determine conservation priorities,Ensures adequate and timely technical reporting internally and to relevant donors;Following established WWF guidelines, ensures that appropriate monitoring &evaluation systems are implemented.Ensures that appropriate ecological and socio-economic monitoring systems are implemented in all WWF field sites;Ensures the development of project budgets for approval, monitors expenditures against budgets, and ensures the establishment of financial management systems of the projects. Profile: Required QualificationsAdvanced university degree in an appropriate field (conservation / environment / natural resource management wildlife / forest / terrestrial ecology). Overview: The scale up of malaria prevention has in many places resulted in significant reductions of malaria burden of disease. As a result the age-old practice of equating fever with malaria is no longer recommended, as on average about 60% of presumptive cases are indeed not malaria. In addition to the demands of good patient care, indiscriminate use of ACTs not only wasteful but could lead to emergence of resistances to ACTs. In this light the most recent WHO Guidelines for the Treatment of Malaria state that parasitological confirmation by microscopy or Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) is recommended in all patients before treatment is started. This has now been adopted as public policy by Cameroon's Ministry of Public Health. To support this policy, the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) has been supporting the Ministry of Public Health in the introduction and roll out of Malaria RDTs since January 2011. In 2012, we will support the government of Cameroon in the roll out of RDTs across the country.

In this light, we are seeking a dynamic Malaria Diagnosis Project Manager to provide management support and technical expertise to the Cameroon's Ministry of Public Health through the National Malaria Control Program in partnership with other key country stakeholders to facilitate rapid implementation of activities related to the nationwide scale-up of RDTs. The Project Manager will assist the country in establishing and/or strengthening the building blocks for introducing a new technology (e.g., forecasting and product selection, behavior change strategy) and help to identify barriers to successful distribution, uptake, and adherence at all levels. The Project manager will be a experienced highly motivated, energetic, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding problem solving, managerial, analytical, and communication skills. S/he must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence. The position will be based in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and other partners in strengthening commodity forecasting, product selection and procurement, and quality assurance processes for RDTs;Assess and improve upon existing training manuals, job aides, and communication materials related to RDTs;Carry-out rapid baseline survey in pilot health facility level to determine current barriers to distribution and uptake of RDTs;Support the design, launch, and management of an operational research project to test creative solutions to RDT distribution or uptake challenges identified and inform the development of national policy;Develop an inventory monitoring tool to improve RDT supply planning at the regional / district levels;Coordinate with other initiatives in country to ensure that RDT scale-up activities fit within a broader national context;Build capacity within the NMCP and other in-country partners to manage the RDT program;Ensure CHAI's activities are conducted according to work plan and budget;Collaborate closely and develop strong relationships with national governments, regional institutions, and key partner organizations to ensure coordination of resources and efforts.

To work with the ground team to design the different buildings to be constructed at the Peace Generation Nursery and Primary school in Cameroon. Some of these buildings include:

1) Classrooms
2) Administrative block
3) a water tank ( for storage and distribution by gravity

5) A library and a computer room
6) A kitchen

The detail description of the structures will be provided to the volunteers.

We hope that a skilled volunteer will help in the design of the buildings that meet modern infrastructural standards that maximizes natural lighting and much more. The volunteer will work on the proposed building plans available now to develop standard building plans in both 1,2 and and 3D plans. This project is expected to be completed in three months. Some draft structural diagrams exist. LUKMEF will provide these to the volunteer. Online communication will be maintained by e-mail, skype and phone 24/5. Much information relating to detailed building specifications will be provided.

Au Cameroun, la JIF a une connotation festive et dans la plupart des cas les femmes ne savent pas pourquoi le 8 mars a été déclarée JIF.

OBJECTIVE

Le but de cette tâche est d'informer, d'éduquer et communiquer sur les raisons de l'institutionnalisation du 8 mars ainsi que les droits de la femme.

The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, environmental conservation and equity by conducting research to inform policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. We are one of 15 centres within the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our headquarters are in Bogor, Indonesia, and we have offices in Asia, Africa and South America.

CIFOR is looking for a Regional Communications Officer for the Africa Region.

Reporting to the Media Relations and Outreach Manager, the Regional Communications Officer leads the development, implementation, evaluation and continual improvement of CIFOR’s regional communication strategy for Africa.

The Regional Communications Officer works with scientists to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CIFOR’s overall investment in communication through effective planning and evaluation. The post holder will play a leading role in the development of a regional communications strategy with the support of CIFOR’s technical experts.


Duties and responsibilities

Develop the African elements of CIFOR’s multilingual website.Develop appropriate communications materials in multiple formats on our work in Africa, such as:
- Write stories, news releases, e-newsletters and other content for the web, printed material and the media
- Prepare multimedia packages for the web and media.  Liaise with media in the region to disseminate information on our research.Build communication plans and budgets into regional research proposals and projects to enhance impact.Support the integration of communication for development activities and knowledge management into projects and programmes.Build the communication capacities of scientists and others in the region by arranging communication training and providing mentoring.Evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities and recommend better approaches.

Requirements

Education, experience, technical skills and competencies

Degree in communication or related disciplineAt least 5 years of professional work experience in media relationsExperience in planning, implementing and evaluating comprehensive communication programsExperience in working for a research facility or within the development sector is an advantageKnowledge of African communication networkVerbal and written fluency in English and French
