PURPOSE

* Provide support to the Business Continuity, BIA and Loss prevention framework

* Ensure that the employees feel more confident that risks are being effectively managed and also to respond more effectively to low probability catastrophic risks.

* Ensure that the business of GCSA is free from risks leading to workplace accident and professional diseases.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Holder of a degree in Safety, Environment or related field.
· 2-years experience in a technical competence area (Environment, Health and Safety, Risk) and knowledge of other areas.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

AsEHSSystem Controller Guinness Cameroon, you should be able to:

· Initiate, manage and drive key projects related to safety management in Demand & Supply.
· Perform safety training and administer training programmes in accidents and fire prevention and protection and other employee safety procedures for Demand & Supply
· Review and maintain safety documentation for Demand & Supply
· Ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to environmental and occupational health and safety and emergency preparedness for Demand & Supply
· Analyse accident data to identify trends and accident types that can be prevented in Demand & Supply
· Ensure safety programmes and policies etc to comply with the standards for Demand & Supply.
· Analyse, plan and order PPEs of good quality respecting International standards and issued to workers and visitors in Demand & Supply
· Ensure proper management of contractors as per Safety recommendations made available to them prior to commencement of each contract
· Establish a Risk Management framework (Risk Assessment Framework) and develop risk management implementation plans. Ensure that risks are identified using appropriate risk assessment process and actions plans developed and implemented to mitigate the risks in Demand & Supply.
· Manage EHS issues, including permitting, pollution prevention, environmental regulatory compliance, inspections, reporting, auditing and contractor’s compliance in Demand & Supply.
· Diagnose the specific problems with risk management behaviours/process, and proposing effective remedy in Demand & Supply.
· Be one of most important stakeholders of our safety management implementation such as work permit, inductions, PPE, SIRC cards, accident investigations in Demand & Supply.

CAPABILITIES

You will need to have:
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of National legislation relative to environment, health and safety; ISO 14000 and OSHA 18000.
· Ability to conduct site visits.
· Strong communication skills.
· Strong analytical skills
· Good influencing and inter personal skills

You will also need to be:

* Bilingual English / French

* A good user of MS office software

* Sociable, approachable and tactful

* Able to cope with confidential matters

· Quality, safety and cost conscious
· pro-active and prepared to challenge the status quo
· Dynamic

We are looking for a Financial Controller who will ensure that financial performance is improved in all areas reflected and guarantee an environment of effective controls and compliance in programme offices (PO). The incumbent will also develop and roll out training, tools and support for finance staff and other staff on finance and control topics. Location:

Yaounde, Cameroon Country Programme Office

Main responsibilities:

Ensures effective implementation of all adopted financial policies, procedures and legal requirements in the programme;
Streamlines financial processes and procedures in the Programme, and promote or implements new financial initiatives and requirements;
Ensure that the review of PO trial balances is done timely and corrections are made when necessary;
Conducts regular reviews at PO field projects to identify control gaps and areas of non-compliance with PO policies and procedures;

What you need:

Required Qualifications

Accounting certifications (ACCA, CPA) and/or Master Degree in international business or finance, business administration and management.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant professional experience in finance or accounting is essential. This must include at least two (2) years of management experience working in multicultural and decentralized teams. An experience in NGO and/or international organization and the knowledge of WWF's network will be an asset.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of financial issues, including financial reporting, controlling and budgeting;
Excellent knowledge of financial management and related control policies;
Strong analytical skills;
Good proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office package especially MS Excel, and of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software ;
Availability to travel in field projects both inside or/and outside the country;
Excellent inter-personal and general communication skills;
Ability to train others, explain complex concepts in a simple manner and drive change and high performance to other staffs;
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely in English and French
Adhere to WWF's values: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging

Drilling Cost Controller - Cameroon

Apply Position Description Supporting the drilling teams in formulating budgets for both corporate and external cycles. Assisting the drilling department with the preparation of Authorisations for Expenditure (AFEs), particularly as regards developing realistic cost estimates for activity line items within each AFE. Developing and producing cost reports for submission to the drilling team, the Cameroon leadership team, and the corporate office to explain the drilling cost performance. Provide regular updates of drilling cost performance versus budgets and AFEs. Timely and accurate preparation of monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) cost estimates and monthly/quarterly re- forecasts. Supporting the Contracts & Procurement team in the contracting and procurement of drilling materials and services, ensuring that C&P activity falls within planned budgets and that drilling requisitions are coded correctly. Organise and participate in regular inventory/stock checks at all locations where drilling stock is held (including 3rd party storage). Providing any and all necessary support during routine audits of drilling costs by corporate auditors, partners, and statutory auditors. In a more general context, assisting the wider Operations and Facilities Engineering teams to develop best practice cost control techniques, procedures and tools. Principal coaching and mentoring accountabilities will include: In coordination with the Finance Manager, crafting a training and development plan for the national cost control staff. Providing on-the-job training for national cost controllers. Day-to-day supervision of the national cost control staff in the performance of their assigned duties, including conducting quality checks on all work to ensure it meets the expectations of the client departments. Position Requirements Bachelors degree in relevant subject field required; formal accounting qualification is strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years experience in finance roles in the oil and gas industry is a must, with at least 3 years experience in direct support of drilling activities. Good knowledge of purchase to pay and financial accounting systems is required. Previous experience with Sun and Proactis would be ideal, but is not a requirement. Previous experience working in developing countries mentoring national staff is a requirement. Work experience in sub-Saharan Africa would be ideal, but is not a requirement. A proven ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment is essential. Fully conversant with standard oil & gas/joint venture accounting practices. Good understanding of E&P operations particularly drilling and well services operations. Bachelors Degree Hons or equivalent

Job Purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of financial control, accounting and and financial management support for the RegionResponsible to build, develop and manage a strong finance team to support the Region business.Responsible for ensuring the provision of accurate and timely financial accounts for business:To comply with local fiscal authorities.To comply with US GAAP financial reporting requirements.Responsible for ensuring internal controls are in place and operating effectively, complying with company policy and SOX.To provide Operations Management with meaningful financial reports to assist them in running the business, work with management teams and advise on operational finance issues.To develop and improve processes and procedures, including implementing new financial systems within the Finance function to improve accuracy and efficiency and comply with local, Region & Global policies.Responsible for financial integration of newly acquired businesses into existing structure, and performing or assisting with due diligence on M&A projects when required.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Qualified Accountant (recognised International Qualification such as CA, ACCA or CIMA).Minimum 7+ years experience, preferably with in a similar industry role.Experienced in management reporting, and providing support to all levels of operational and non-financial management.Strong practical experience in US GAAP accounting..Fluent in English and French languages, written and spoken.

Preferred:

Oil & Gas industry experienceFluent in the local language of the Region that the position is based in, written & spoken Knowledge/experience of Sarbanes Oxley and other SEC requirements.

Skill Requirements:

Essential:

Relevant PC skillsStrong communication skills (both written & oral)Ability to use initiative, judgement and work with minimum supervision.Experience of managing, developing and motivating a team.Strong knowledge and experience in accounting practice.Experience of working closely with operational and other non-financial personnel.Experienced in local accounting regulations, VAT and tax regulations and compliance with fiscal authorities.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.Experience of budget and forecast preparation, written commentaries on business performance.Experience of working capital management and providing advice to management in this area.

Preferred:

JD Edwards, SAP, 1S, 1C and Hyperion experienceInterested in business and operational issues related to finance.

To manage the complete finance, accounting and financial management support for the Country To manage local accounting teams to ensure local book-keeping for the local branches and the legal entities is accurate and timely, specifically: All cash transactions are recorded properly and in compliance with local regulations.Timely and accurate processing of local purchase invoices, keep adequate records of all local invoices receivedCorrect account coding for all expenditures.  Ensure invoices and all expenditures are approved for payment in accordance with the Grant of Authority.Timely payment of local purchases, and preparation of on-line banking payments where appropriate.Proper controls and processes are in place for approval and payment of employee expense reports, ensure the correct forms are completed, all receipts are attached and ensure these are approved in accordance with the Grant of Authority.Inventory and asset records are properly kept in accordance with local regulations.Responsible to manage teams to ensure that sales invoices are accurately prepared, submitted to the customer on time and the correct copies are sent for processing.  Ensure accurate sales invoicing reports are prepared, reconciled to the monthly revenue totals.  Ensure compliance with the Revenue Recognition policy.Monitor bank account balances, prepare periodic cash flow forecasts and submit cash requests as appropriate for working capital and other requirements.  Maintain strong relationships with local banks as necessary.Work with local financial and tax and legal advisers to ensure local requirements are met with regards to tax filings, including VAT and other statutory requirements.  Work with local and international tax advisors and internal tax department to ensure efficient tax planning strategies are up to date.Responsibility to manage teams to ensure that asset and inventory counts are performed in accordance with company policy, including the continuous reconciliation between financial, operational and physical records.  Advise management on slow-moving and obsolete inventory strategies.Provide the Local and Operational Management with advice and assistance: In the form of financial analysis to all levels of operations management, as needed for interpretation of results, quotations and sales bids, and project evaluations including the economic justification for capital expenditureIn the preparation and issue of annual revenue and expense budgets.Assists management in identifying potential areas for cost reduction and improvement in business performance and profitability.Assist in preparation and explanation of rolling forecasts, and other reports as required.Working capital management of CAPX, Inventory, DSO

8.  In conjunction with the line Management, responsible for the monitoring and improvement of internal controls necessary for the custody and efficient management of all assets, trade receivables, inventory and fixed assets in the Country. Responsible to ensure compliance with the internal control requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act. 

a.    Monthly balance sheet reviews, resolve reconciling items.

b.   Monthly P&L reviews, investigations and reports to management on significant variances to forecast and prior months results for revenues, cost of sales and expenses. 

c.    Review monthly Controllers Report (commentary on results).

d.  Answering queries from Corporate, product line, local and regional management.

e.     Information to meet statutory, legal and tax requirements.

9   Work with the Region Credit Manager to ensure:-

Credit is only given in line with company policy.Accurate and timely billing.Accelerate the collection of accounts receivable.

10.  Assist and support the Region Controller as required.

11 .The position will require ability to travel to other parts of the Region / Country as required.

Qualifications:

 Essential:

Qualified Accountant (recognised International Qualification such as CA, ACCA or CIMA).Minimum 7+ years experience, preferably with in a similar industry role.Experienced in management reporting, and providing support to all levels of operational and non-financial management.Strong practical experience in US GAAP accounting..Fluent in English and French languages, written and spoken.

 Preferred:

Oil & Gas industry experienceFluent in the local language of the Country that the position is based in, written & spokenKnowledge/experience of Sarbanes Oxley and other SEC requirements.

 Skill Requirements:

Credit Controller Job in Kenya

Position : Credit Controller
Department : Accounting and Finance
Supervised by : Finance Manager

Role Objective

To effectively manage the company’s credit control policy and minimize overdue trade debtor’s balances, to ensure continued liquidity to meet company obligations and to ensure that all debtors’ accounts are fully reconciled at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to regularly follow up all outstanding debts for specific customer accounts with the respective sales staff and report problem accounts to the Finance Manager.To verify facts of all sales returns before passing a credit note. Ensure that all supporting documentations are duly authorized and factual before processing of a credit note. Ensure credit notes are passed and posted on a timely basis to update stock records.Ensure adherence to policies and procedures of the credit control department.Maintain records of all customers in a file (invoices, credit notes, remittance slips, copies of withholding VAT and any manner of correspondences with the customer) and ensure that the same is filed system and in order for ease of traceability. Ensure on a daily basis that the accounts copies are received at the end of every day with clear evidence of delivery to the customer to prevent future disputes.Ensure that all documentation necessary during audit is prepared on time and forwarded to the Financial Accountant for inclusion in the audit file.Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner.Meet cash and debtor day targets set by the firmChase overdue invoices by telephone, email and letter within agreed timescales.Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.Regular meetings with debtors to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtness.Ensures that all transactions are compliant with tax legislation.Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms.Provide accurate advice on billing queries.Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries.Propose write off of irrecoverable debts.Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requestedEnsure monthly processing deadlines are met as required.Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time.Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested.Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Manager or any other person designated in their absence.Certified public accountant part two section 3 and 4.3 years relevant experience as a credit controller especially in an IT firm.Motivated and ready to work under minimal supervision.Excellent Communication skills at all levels are highly desirable. REGIONAL FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - EAST AFRICA

Our client is one of the worldwide leaders in the agri-business sector.

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, you will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the financial and accounting information for 5 Business Units in Kenya and Tanzania and you will accompany the opening of three additional offices in the region. Reporting to Regional Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:

¢ Close the general ledger and reconciling all relevant income statements and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis,
¢ Develop and lead multiple accounting teams across profit centres and origins,
¢ Align East African operations to Group objectives,
¢ Control F/X risk exposure,
