Job overview / Purpose/Summary
·         Managing the country based operations functions and oversee administrative responsibility for operations tasks handled on behalf of the Liner Operations Clusters. ·         Working with Country Manager on achieving lowest cost proposition for Country Operations deliverables. ·         Procuring inland services and managing contracts using framework/guidance from Centre Operations. ·         Delivering on equipment management targets such as Stock Factors and Inland Distribution. ·         Coordinate with GSC and keep on the outsourcing drive ·         Ensure country cluster adhere to operational standards and safe environment ·         Be in charge company HSSE and advise cluster TOP on operational issues ·         Represent company in port and chipping council meetings. ·         Managing Intermodal & Inland operations, Equipment Management, Cost Management, Claims Management, Reefer Management and Costs Control and Management  ·         Overseeing administrative responsibility of port operations teams ·         Designing intermodal network and handling intra-country costs from truck, barge and rail products . ·         Procuring inland services ·         Cooperating with Country commercial desks,Customer service, Trade & Marketing and MPV

Job overview

* Deliver /optimize volume and yield targets in line with Africa 1st strategy while remaining focused on relationship building
* Manage sales pipeline, segmentation, and accurate forecasting
* Develop a sales plan and cascade the budget
* Monitor performance against KPI and take corrective action where necessary
* Manage and coach a team of individuals to optimal performance
* Deliver customer satisfaction surveys targets
* Manage coordination with other channels
* Oversee trade and marketing desk to ensure feedback from customers and knowledge of the market pace is gathered, analysed and actioned on
Key responsibilities

Coaching and development

* Develop sales force skills and provide ongoing coaching to sales reps
* Develop new sales talent
* Challenge and support sales reps in identifying, prioritizing and taking profit improvement actions
* Coordinate product/market specific training as neededSales support

* Maintain relationships with top accounts and participate in sales calls
* Maintain relationships with other ML sales channels managers to facilitate best practice sharing and cross trade sales. This includes regular follow up with origin ports to improve loads and market participation
