Job Over view
As DAMCO Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial activities of MLOG in Cameroon. You will report to the DAMCO Finance Manager. You will be instrumental in bring about necessary changes within DAMCO finance.
General Areas of Responsibilities:
* Establishing the DAMCO Cameroun budget
* Ensuring accurate job costing as well as timely invoicing and file closing
* Follow up on Bank guarantee status and ensure that the bank guarantees are cancelled soonest (minimise the outstanding bank guarantees over 90 days)
* Ensuring reconciliation of creditor statements and clearing of reconciling items
* Preparation of statutory financials.
* Responsible for the monthly and annual financial statements of MLOG and ensure timely management reporting
* Presenting financial statements for management decisions
* Controlling cash flow and outstanding dues from the customers for the total company
* Active participation in country HFM sign-off, annual book closing and preparation of board meeting materials
* Ensuring proper controls are in place
* Provide day to day guidance and coaching to the accounting team
* Ensuring compliance with Cameroun tax regulations and APM GAP
* Ensuring all contracts are kept valid at all times and we have operating contract with all major operators used by MLOG
* Monthly customer profitability analysis / true business partner
* Interact and manage relationships with Bankers, Auditors and Tax advisors
* Any other task that may be allotted to ensure effective functioning of the Finance department based on exigencies of workRequirements:

Cameroon is a large and exciting emerging market in Africa and Damco has only a minor market share today. Cameroon is part of the Nigeria Cluster including Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Niger, Chad, Central African Republic and Congo.
The Position
You will hold the position of Hinterland Operation Manager for Damco in Cameroon and join a young, energetic and ambitious team of highly skilled logistics professionals. You will head the Hinterland department and all operations into Chad and Central Africa. You will be ultimately responsible for developing actual and new identified corridors (Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, etc) and ensure implementation of proper processes to smoothly run the operations. You will be a key player in the further growth and development of our company. The right candidate must be able, jointly with the management team, to develop new products to address the direction and developments in the market.
Leadership Level/Reporting Line
Leader of Others - You will be reporting to the Country Manager of Cameroon (located in Douala)
Specific tasks and areas of responsibility
* CM1 and revenue growth (P/L responsibility)
* Head all Operational matters related to the Hinterland
* Maximize profitability by avoiding unexpected cost due to operational failure
* Optimize and coach the team to become best-in-class
* Expand our product portfolio by identifying and launching service to new corridors (Equatorial Guinea and Gabon)
* Work closely with management and Business Development DeskKey Performance Indicators
* Operational excellence (processes, Transit time, etc)

* Customer Satisfaction Survey
* Develop and expand current service portfolio (new corridors)
* EESKnowledge and Qualifications
* Minimum 4 years business experience including minimum 2 years managerial experience (Leading Others)
* Knowledge of our core business and ability to pitch a winning strategy differentiating Damco
* Proven track record of business development and operational management of a business
* Ability to establish strong relationships stakeholders related to the activity
* Result oriented with strong business acumen and a strong sense of urgency
