Head of Planning required for hydro power project in sub-Saharan Africa.

Our client is a global engineering organisation with operations throughout the World. They are one of the leading European engineering organizations, working on notable infrastructure and energy projects throughout the world.

This organisation is now looking for an experienced Planning Expert for a hydro power project in Cameroon.

The contract language is French therefore, the ideal candidate will be fluent in French and English.

The ideal candidate will have the following minimum profile requirements:
* University degree or equivalent preferably in Civil Engineering, or in other engineering discipline
* Experience of large hydro power projects
* Fluent in French - written and speaking
* Good oral communication skills (meetings with contractors, senior authority management, technical disciplines)
* Good written skills
* On-screen presentation skills
* 20 years' overall experience in civil engineering projects
* Experience of supervising and managing teams
* Experience of sub-Saharan Africa is preferable
* Proficiency in the use of Primavera (P3/P5/P6) and MS Project
* Remuneration package: Dependent on experience, and expectations

· Good implementation skills
· Ability to understand and learn
· Strong problem solving ability and skills to influence key stakeholders to take business versus functional decisions.

You will also need to be:

· Good communicator.
· Passionate with process improvement and attention to detail.
· Good completer/finisher and able to work under pressure to complete tasks on time and in line with overall planning processes.
· Computer literate (SAP),
· Fluent English and French

World Wide Fund: Planning and Monitoring Coordinator

S/he will be responsible for a major part of the sub-region, more precisely; Central Africa Republic, Gabon, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome and Principe.

Responsibilities:

Planning

Support the planning of programmes and contributing projects using the Programme Standards to ensure measurable goals and objectives are put in place with clear project-programme inter-linkages that allow roll up of results from projects and national programmes to the GI and regional level.

Monitoring

Lead the design and implementation of a monitoring system to track delivery against CARPO/GHoA goals and objectives as defined in the GI strategic plan and other relevant plans (e.g. national work plans)Ensure monitoring data (especially on impact) is incorporated into technical reports


Evaluation

Lead analysis of data collected under the monitoring framework for assessment of progress and identification of areas for improvementEnsures regular project and programme evaluations are conducted according to WWF standards, and participates in some evaluations and assesses delivery of national action plans


Reporting

Provide mid-term and annual technical progress reports on programme delivery, as per WWF standards, that provide CARPO management and WWF International with the information needed for adaptive managementPrepare technical briefing papers, and status updates for GI Shareholder Executive Team, GI Shareholder Group and CARPO Conservation Committee as requiredActs as a CARPO/GHoA focal point for the eventual implementation of Insight (the automated data management and reporting system)Monitor CARPO KPI (Key Performance Indicator) gathering and monitor progress of the annual plans for each functions


Learning

Supports transfer of knowledge between country and field programmesEnsure lessons from monitoring and reporting systems are used for adaptive managementCoordinate consultation and collaboration with key points of expertise over monitoring, data and science within and outside the region towards the delivery of key strategiesUndertake periodic review of the implementation and operation of the monitoring and reporting mechanism, including the preparation of best practices and lesson learnedAssess programme capacity and organise training as necessary for project/programme staff in relevant parts of the Programme StandardsContribute to the development of global results-based management systems and to ensure CARPO is following the latest Programme Standards best practices and is benefitting from network support and training opportunitiesCarrie out other duties as requested

Requirements:

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager Job.

He/she will be responsible for supporting financial planning & budgeting process, financial performance monitoring, forecasting and corporate finance initiatives in support of the Head of Finance & Legal and other Senior Managers as required.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide Finance input to Development managers and Business Development Managers
* To ensure financially robust feasibility studies performed, with appropriate sensitivities, risks and opportunities identified, including business case for new business opportunities identified
* Monitor performance against budget (Cash and Net Income)
* Revise funding forecasts
* Work with team to provide funding scenarios
* Work with the Strategy team to prepare the financial plan for the Company as part of the business planning process
* Ensure timely preparation of budgets, revised forecasts and rolling projections, working across functional teams to deliver in alignment to strategic and business plans
* Monitor performance against budget/ forecasts, analyzing financial and operational data to determine performance across periods, portfolios and geographies, highlighting risks & opportunities,
* Monitor total Company requirement on funding
* Work with the Strategy team to evaluate financial implications of opportunities for mergers, acquisitions, alliances, joint ventures and partnerships on the capital structure of the Company
* Liaise with the Head – Finance & Legal, Business Development Managers and Development Managers to prepare project financing strategies and plans for new business opportunities undertaken

Qualification and experience
* A minimum Chartered/ Public Accounting qualification or MBA with specialization in Finance
* At least 8 years of experience in financial analysis, financial management and/ or corporate finance
* Relevant industry experience, working internationally for a blue-chip company
* Good knowledge of finance, economic and statistical principles and analytical techniques
* High level of analytical ability and accuracy
* Excellent financial modeling skills
* Strong inter-personal skills
* Self starter, prepared to challenge wisdom
