Develop an Integrated Farming Project

TASK

The volunteers will be helping us develop an integrated farm project. The project will seek to increase crop production and livestock production while educating youths on the benefit.

The volunteers will be expected to finalise the project by September and all necessary inputs from the community will be provided by the our organization. we will exchange emails with the volunteers to provide the best inputs from the community as well as technical reports

Number of volunteers: 3

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This project will start an integrated farm and will train youths to start small integrated farms. This project aims at putting youths as actors in food security.

OBJECTIVE

The project will seek to promote entrepreneurship of youths through agriculture because
-it uses low external inputs in farming
-increased production and productivity of crops and livestock.
-It makes maximum use of smaller household
farm size
-Income and food security especially for the poorcan be improved
-Everybody can practice it
-It is environmentally friendly
-It is sustainable
-It sequestrates carbon in the soil, thus
becoming a solution to global warming

TASK

The task is to write a project proposal on youth participation in the electoral process in Cameroon.

We are ready to work with the volunteers for as long as it takes to make this project a success. We estimate the project to started by January 2013. we will work closely with the volunteers by providing information from the field, online meetings to access the project etc

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The idea of the project comes from the lack of youth participation in elections and different policies for young people to increase their voting participation. The project will take place Cameroon 2012. The project is focusing on training 30 youths from ten regions of Cameroon to take an active role in the political life of the country and to increase ability of youth to evaluate different political parties and their different policies for local area.

OBJECTIVE

Increasing the awareness of the importance of youth participation in democratic processes by registering and voting;
Fostering young people to get better consciousness for their decisions in voting;
Understanding the electoral system in Cameroon;
Raising awareness about what democratic and transparent elections are.
Creating creative messages and posters to promote youth participation. These posters will be pasted on major billboards in Cameroon

TASK

Help identify potential donors as well as writing convincing funding proposals that are targeted to the individual donors requirements on sensitizing 500 youths on HIV/AIDS and training on job creation during the summer holidays. Each Volunteer shall develop project and identify donors.

Each Volunteer will work from May,June and July 2012. We shall supply them all information needed to accomplish the tasks. They shall work individually to develop project and identify donors. Volunteers will either be English or French speakers. Communication will be through email and sometimes on phone.

Leaders of Tomorrow International is in need of committed volunteers to write grant proposals, research potential donors, and formulate strategies for fundraising.

Volunteers will not submit funding requests on behalf of our organization.

Develop architectural design of RUDEC office building in a 2 meter by 7m land square. RUDEC has being hosting the office on a small house of the founder. The children are growing up now and project work needs to be separated from private home.This office will have the Director, project manager,project coordinators rooms, a store and conference room. There will be a total of 5 rooms in a one storey building.

The deadline is 15 September 2012.This project will be duration is 4 months. RUDEC will collaborate with the volunteer to reach target.

RUDEC as any other organisation need an office and we think it will not be sustainable to be in the house of the founder. Since we have little resource we want to manage them well to have an office that will last us.

Community Agriculture and Environmental Protection Association (CAEPA)

TASK

Volunteers are expected to design the school, do the costing for materials as well to enable CAEPA have a clue of the entire cost.

The deadlines for the project is September. CAEPA Cameroon will furnish volunteers with the different section of the institute, demonstration plots. The online collaboration will be managed by CAEPA Cameroon coordinator who will distribute the task to the volunteers.
