Key Responsibilities

Execute a safe drilling operation
As our new Assistant Driller, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that daily drilling operations are executed in accordance with Maersk Drilling procedures and safety regulations.

You will be responsible for supervising the work on the drill floor in connection with the drilling operations as well as ensuring safe operation of the equipment and technical systems as instructed by the Driller to operate. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the safety of all personnel working under your direct supervision.

You will report to the Driller, and assist in ensuring that the drilling is performed in compliance with current safety regulations and procedures, and in accordance with the established programme and Maersk Drilling procedures and instructions

Who we are looking for

Assistant Driller with Jack-Up experience
You are currently working in a similar offshore position and have preferable 2-3 years experience as an Assistant Driller on offshore rigs.

You also hold a Driller level Well Control certificate issued by an internationally recognized provider. You are confident working with IT and possess good English communication skills.

Finally, you are loyal, committed to the team and always think safety first.

Assistant Driller - Hunter

Position Summary

The Assistant Driller is responsible for operating the Top Drive, Kelly, rotary table, drawworks, mud circulating systems, and B.O.P. equipment.  

Essential Functions

1.Assist driller in operation of all equipment at the Driller's console and on the rig floor in a safe manner and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition on the drill floor and associated area.
2.Assist Driller in supervising the assembly, disassembly, and storage of all blowout prevention equipment as required by the well plan and instructed by the Toolpusher or Tourpusher.
3.Assist Driller in monitoring the well condition at all at all times (i.e. depth, mud weight, weight on bit, possible deviation from course, etc.).  Interpret and respond to downhole conditions.
4.Review all available well planning documentation available on the rig.
5.Perform drilling operations as instructed by the Driller.
6.Assist the Driller to confirm reporting on drill fluid conditions by assigned personnel.
7.Assist the Driller in maintaining accurate record of downhole tool dimensions and identification numbers.
8.Inform the Driller if a deviation from planned operation occurs.
9.Assist the Driller in keeping accurate records of fluid displacement when tubulars are run in/pulled out of hole.
10.Assist the Driller to complete the IADC daily drilling report at the end of each tour.
11.Assist the Driller in holding pre-job meetings with the drilling crew for all non-routine drilling operations.
12.Assist the Driller to secure the well during an emergency or well control situation - assist in the well killing operations.
13.Assist the Driller in the planning, organizing and supervision of rig move operations.


Safety Accountabilities

1.Activities are typically wide-ranging as a recognized expert and problem-solver. This applies to all areas of safety management.
2.Ensures that personal behaviors/work practices are a role model to all and in line with company safety standards.
3.Demonstrates a detailed knowledge of the safety management systems and procedures within their department.
4.Usually 8-10 years of experience in a range of operating, project or supervisory roles. Typically, a first-line supervisor with direct responsibility for all safety requirements (pre, during & post shift).
5.Participates as required in investigations of injuries/incidents in their own and other departments.
6.Actively participates, contributes and leads hazard identification [FOCUS], safety tool box meetings, JSA review, Focus plus program etc.
7.Participates in multiple risk management reviews prior to and following changes in the workplace or procedures to ensure no negative impacts.
8.Passes on information and feedback from accident/incident data and rehabilitation processes, and takes action to improve safety conditions and prevent recurrence.
9.Leads and pays close attention to housekeeping, double-checks and takes additional safety precautions to ensure no-one is put at risk by own work or the work of others.  
10.Takes no short cuts and actively works with other team members to ensure they do not put themselves or others at risk.
11.Participates in safety initiatives/committees where appropriate.
12.Advises other departments and checks others working around them to ensure that safety procedures are well understood and followed.
13.Anticipates and seeks to resolve hazards using company processes including FOCUS and other risk management tools.
14.Reports all hazards and incidents in line with company procedure


Minimum Education and Skill Requirements

1.High school diploma or equivalent.  Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
2.Valid Well Control and Drilling Technology certificates and other Safety or Training courses. (Regulatory and company required).
3.Valid medical examination and essential function test.
4.Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the safe operation of the drilling unit assigned and basic computer skills.
5.Previous drilling experience.


Physical Requirements

1.Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
2.Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
3.Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling are required frequently.  Requires lifting and substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
4.Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
5.The worker is subject to environmental conditions. The worker is subject to extreme heat which may include temperatures above 100° for periods of more than one hour.

Directional Driller (Oil and Gas Drilling and Evaluation Measurements) Cameroon

CA Oil & Gas are currently seeking a Directional Driller for our clients operations.  African Nationals will be given priority for these positions when applying.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Under broad direction provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems at the well site where analysis of data requires having a broad knowledge of the product line(s)) tool(s)) and/or service. 

Work is evaluated upon completion by a Field Supervisor (where appropriate), local Operations Management and the external Customer to ensure objectives have been met.
Acts as a project leader and mentors junior field engineers. 
Provides direct instruction and supervision to junior Field Engineers on day-to-day well site work and activities. Provides advice and direction to external customer and third-party wellsite colleagues as appropriate.

Executes other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
University Degree in Engineering or Applied Science required. 5 + years’ experience in Directional Drilling Services
Completion of the Final Step (Step III) of the LEAD Field Engineer Program and all local training and development programs. This may be exempted dependent upon candidates work history in Directional Drilling and Field Experience.

Desired/Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• Thorough knowledge of Conventional Drilling Systems Technology
• Working knowledge of Rotary Steerable Technology
• Working knowledge of MWD systems used in Directional Drilling Systems.
• Thorough understanding of customer requirements in the oilfield environment
• Proficient in the use of PC’s
• Ability to use skills, knowledge and techniques in problem recognition and solution development
• Thorough knowledge of Anti Collision policy and techniques for Collision Avoidance.
• Good analytical skills.
• Ability to work and communicate well with internal and external customers.
